Back in the saddle again

Hi y'all...

Long time no blog, huh? Between nursing my William back to health right after school started up, and getting some wicked bug that caused me to have pneumonia and being hospitalized from complications from that as well as extreme dehydration, I have been totally out for the count the last almost 2 months!

I've been accepted to several CT teams, and have some beautiful layouts I am going to share along with where to find these amazing products at! I also hope to be able to get some new things designed for my own shoppe as well, just taking time to gain strength and stamina back. Most days I take one step forward and then slide back 5-6 steps. Not fun!!

My next color challenge has been posted over at the SSB forum Honey Pot! It's a bit late, and am so sorry for that. Between raging wild fires happening here in Texas, especially across East Texas, we have been poised all weekend to see if we need to evacuate or not. So far, we are still safe, but the smallest spark can/wound change things forever for us. William is also extremely sick, and has been very much hands-on all weekend. No rest for the weary!

This month, since we aren't going to have a fall here in Texas, I've tried to focus my swatch on the beauty of autumn. I hope you will enjoy playing with these colors as much as I have been able to do!

Am kinda bummed...

Before, especially during some emotional times, have been flooded with requests to join different CT teams for different designers. Well, I've always turned them down. Or, if I have tried it out, become so overwhelmed, I backed out quietly and left the scene. Now, I have the time, opportunity, mojo and creativity, am given false promises or else my CT application is just ignored. It hurts. I want to expand myself in this manner, and feel as though I am hitting a brick wall over and over. I don't tag or do tutorials, and maybe that's part of my problem. I want to do layout work, and can do either full size or tagger and tweek layouts with smaller pieces.

I miss being creative in this way. Makes me kinda sad. I guess (and what I am telling myself over and over) that the designers I've applied to, there's a reason why I haven't heard anything back. I guess the right one will come along.. one day...

Sorry for the whine/vent....

I have put in a super cute clip art pack all about going back to school! I was inspired after spending the entire day in the madness that is experienced of doing back to school shopping for William. He has hit a HUGE growth spurt, so we had to go out and get him an entire new wardrobe of clothes, both school uniforms as well as play/going to town/church clothes. WHEW!! Also checked everything off his school supply list, and think this year is going to be the year with the FEWEST supplies needed. Yikes for next year for sure!

I created another layout for our template challenge over at the forum using Jessicas Sweet Nothings kit, Something. These were pictures taken when family came for a visit during the July 4th weekend. William and his cousin were out picking the last of our good blueberries from the bushes before the drought wiped out the rest of our crops. Can't wait to see what else I can create with this amazing kit!

I've just finished getting our color challenge posted on the SSB forum for this month! This month, I have been inspired by the colors of flame and fire, since we have been ravaged by wildfires here in Texas along with the extreme drought that's caused nearly the entire state to be under strict burn bans. Never heard of doing since the Dust Bowl of the 1930's - so you know it's bad!

To have some fun with me, all you have to do is use a minimum of three of the colors in the swatch, and use one photo. That's it! The rest is totally up to you! You have until August 1st to get your layout uploaded to the Color Challenge Gallery and post a link in the correct challenge thread to win! How easy is that?

Am dealing with a much-grumpy tummy after dining on camp food nachos last night for dinner while on a surprise visit with Hubby and William at church camp. William was so surprised, he wanted nothing to do with me! *sniff n pout* "Momma, this is not your time to be here, now go home!" Hi y'all....

Yes, I've been quiet as of late. Am dealing with lots of head booboos as William calls them. Today marks 4 years my Daddy passed away. It also marks 2 years ago we found out we would be having another baby, only to lose it 6 weeks later. This is the first time I have had to experience such emotion sans hormones, sans any type of medication, and my bipolar has really put me through the ringer! Crying has become a daily ritual for me, if not almost an hourly "past-time".

I have created two brand new, fantastic CU products just put into my shoppe at SSB!
